Diamond Stitch Dishcloth

Hello and welcome to #2 in my dishcloth series. This time featuring the diamond stitch.

I’m researching stitches for a up-and-coming crochet bag, and this was one of the competitors. I’m probably not gonna use this stitch for my bag, it has too many holes. But it’s a lovely dishcloth pattern!!

The only stitches you need to know are singlecrochet (US term) and chain. So it’s incredible simple. You just need to count when too put in those holes and that’s it.

In the beginning I had a little trouble counting the correct each time and that meant a bit of unraveling. But by the second repeat of the pattern I got it, and it got pretty intuitive.

Things needed

Cotton yarn, you’ll want to choose pure cotton for the pattern for easy cleaning – it is a dishcloth after all
I used this one: Loveknittings MillaMia

A crochet hook size 2.5 mm

A cup of your favorite beverage

The finished cloth measure approx. 20 cm x 20 cm (7.9 in x 7.9 in)

Start by chaining 59 (+1 for turning)
Crochet a row singlecrochets (row 1)
Crochet the rest of the rows
Repeat row 2-8 seven more times (8 in total)
Finish with one row singlecrochet

And that concludes my second dishcloth in my series.

Hope you enjoyed it! I would love if you would share the pattern with your friends on Pinterest/Facebook/ect.
